Outer Ring Road to be handed over to toll operate transfer concessionaire

Hyderabad: The issues relating to taking up the Nehru Outer Ring Road(ORR) on toll operate transfer concession basis came up for discussion at a high level meeting held at the Secretariat on Monday. Principal Secretary Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar, HMDA Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy, officials from the finance and law departments and other officials attended the meeting. The overview of the TOT concept was discussed during the course of the meeting. It was observed that the entire 158 kilometer of Nehru Outer Ring Road along with service roads on both sides, up to the right of way to be handed over to the TOT concessionaire.

The concessionaire shall carry out certain initial construction works on the outer ring road and thereafter operate and maintain the ORR as per stipulated performance parameters. The concessionaire shall have the right to collect toll on the outer ring road for the entire duration of the concession period. The concessionaire shall pay the quoted initial estimated concession value to Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited within 150 days of signing of the concession agreement. Officials informed that draft RFP and draft concession agreement have been approved at the recently held HGCL board meeting.
