Focus on safeguarding child rights: Child Welfare Committee chief

Warangal: Combined Warangal district Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairperson Mandala Parasuramulu met Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil here on Tuesday and explained to him about the programmes taken up by their committee to safeguard interests of children with impetus on eradication of child labour, begging by children, child marriages and protection of child rights.

Following which the Collector had accepted to convene a meeting with the Warangal district child protection unit, childline 1098 and the children’s home organisers working under the Women’s Welfare Department. 

Mandala Parasuramulu had appealed the Collector to arrange payment of the salaries of child labour schools in Warangal district to which the Collector responded positively, it’s learnt. CWC members Vanam Balaraju, K Manjula, and Warangal rural district child protection officer Mahender Reddy were among others present.
