Sand lorry runs over man

Mahbubnagar: In a gruesome accident in Kosgi mandal of Mahbubnagar district, a sand lorry ran over a man driving a moped chopping off both his legs. The incident occurred on the Narayapet-Kosgi highway in the Kosgi mandal headquarters on Thursday.

According to police, Kalidas (30), a small- time businessman, who used to make a living by selling chairs, was proceeding towards Kosgi on his moped. However, once he reached near a narrow bridge, a speeding lorry from the other side hit his moped. As the impact of the accident, Kalidas was flung on the road. The lorry ran over him chopping both of his legs.  

The profusely bleeding Kalidas was immediately shifted to the local government hospital. The doctors declared the condition of the person was very critical and he is battling life and death.  The police have booked a case of negligent driving against the lorry driver who is at large.
