TRS Manifesto Committee flooded with requests from caste bodies

Hyderabad: Several caste-based organisations are lining up before the Manifesto Committee of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi for including their demands in the party’s manifesto for the ensuing elections. The Telangana State Sagara (Uppara) Sangham representatives met the TRS Manifesto Committee Chairman K Keshava Rao with several demands. 

The Sangham members urged the TRS leader to provide pensions on the line of toddy tappers since their community falls under most backward classes, involved in construction works. They have also urged the committee to provide free medical facilities in the corporate hospitals in case of accidents besides providing Rs 10 lakh insurance cover for construction workers.

Similarly, Telangana Nayi Brahmin Seva Sangham representatives also met Keshava Rao demanding reservations in the legislative bodies besides considering the Nayi Brahmins working in temples as government employees, pensions for Nayi Brahmins who crossed 50 years of age and allotting tenders of the temples to Nayi Brahmins only.
