Use paper, save environment

Kothagudem: To make Bhadrachalam as a plastic-free town, the members of Joint Development (JD) Foundation has distributed paper covers to vegetable venders free of cost here on Sunday. The Foundation launched the programme here 15 days ago and conducted several awareness programmes to enlighten the public about the dangerous hazards of the plastic items. 

Speaking on the occasion, Foundations organiser Murali said that their sole aim is to relieve the temple town free of plastic items and will conduct more such programmes here to make people aware about the plastic usage.

He explained about health problems and other damages done by the plastic usage like pollution to the people. Murali requested all the people and businessmen to use paper bags to save the environment. Earlier the members, school children and locals took out a rally in the town on Sunday. The rally was inaugurated by GS Shanker, a noted person in the town.
