TRS stands for Telangana Rowdies Samithi: Congress
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief spokesperson Sravan Dasoju on Tuesday said that the TRS stands for Telangana Rowdies Samithi instead of Telangana Rashtra Samithi, since several rowdy sheeters have been ruling roost in the party.
He said that caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his son caretaker MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao have no moral right to speak anything about martyrs of Telangana, while addressing the media.
Finding fault with caretaker Minister K T Rama Rao for commenting that whether martyrs wanted alliance with Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Sravan said that several youngsters laid down their lives during the movement with the provocative statements made by Chandrashekar Rao. Sravan said all betrayers of Telangana have assembled under the banner of the TRS.
He said leaders like Srinivas Yadav, Tummala Nageshwara Rao and Mahender Reddy, who had attacked the statehood activists during Telangana movement have been rewarded with posts of Cabinet Ministers.
He said several anti-Telangana leaders have been given tickets in Assembly and Parliament. He reminded that Srinivas Yadav had once threatened Chandrashekar Rao that he would not allow him to move freely in Hyderabad. The same person was rewarded with a cabinet post.
Similarly, Mahender Reddy, who had openly abused Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy in filthy language, was also made a Minister. He said all 'rowdies' from Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana have gathered in the TRS. “Which family of Telangana martyrs asked Chandrashekar Rao to induct Talasani, Mahender Reddy or Tummala into State cabinet?” he asked.
Sravan said that the TRS leaders have no moral right to speak anything on possible alliance between the Congress and the TDP. He asked the TRS leaders to clarify as to why and from when TDP and its president Chandrababu Naidu appeared anti-Telangana to them.
He said though there was no clarity on whether or not the Congress and the TDP would have an alliance, but the preliminary indications had created ripples in TRS circles. Sensing that the TRS boat is about to sink, its leaders have started criticising the proposed alliance so as to mislead the people, he said. Calling Chandrashekar Rao a 'political sadist', Dasoju said that the TRS chief was a highly opportunistic politician in the country.
