TS Govt failed to fulfill promises made to journalists
Bhadrachalam: Demanding government to fulfill the promises made to scribes, the Journalists Joint Action Committee (JAC) has sat on hunger strike here in the temple town on Thursday. The hunger strike was inaugurated by senior journalists Kona Anand Kumar and BV Ramana Reddy.
Speaking on the occasion, they said the governments have not been solving the scribes problems for many years. Even the TRS government which had promised many facilities for the journalists did not respond to their demands. Not a single promise was implemented was fulfilled.
The Journalists who are working many newspapers and TV channels haven’t got the house sites that were promised by the government. The striking journalists demanded the government to allot house sites to every journalist.
The opposition parties’ leaders also expressed their solidarity with the striking journalists and appealed to the government to sanction the house sites for scribes immediately.
Journalists Joint Action Committee convenor Koppala Nagaraja demanded the government to solve the issues of journalists and said if their demand is not met they will continue their fight for their demand. The TRS government has failed for solve the issues of the journalists in last four years.
Journalists Pilli Raju, Gnender, B Kiran, Satyananda, T Mohan Rao, Dileep, Prasad, Krishna, Babu and others joined the hunger strike. Leaders of various parties including former MP M Babu Rao, SK Rasool, Dr Venkat Rao, M Rama Krishna, Kodali Srinivasan, SK Azeem, A J Ramesh, MB Narsareddy and others expressed their support to the hunger strike.
