Balayya sparks new life into TDP
Khammam: Indupuram MLA and mega star Nandamuri Balakrishna on Monday kickstarted the political campaign of TDP in the State and boosted the morale of the party workers who had been waiting for some big personality to rejuvenate their sagging confidence since the formation of State.
Balakrishna participated in an impressive roadshow in Madhira and Bonakal and later in Sattupalli campaigned for the TDP party candidates in Khammam.
After reaching Khammam, Balayya visited Madhira where he unveiled the statue of former AP CM and founder of Telugu Desham Party late NT Rama Rao at Dundukur village in mandal.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Balakrishna said that the TDP originated when the late NTR was anguished on seeing the sufferings of weaker sections of society. Within nine months of the party’s formation, NTR came to power. With the formation of the TDP government, the Telugu people heaved a sigh of relief.
He said that it was the NTR who was responsible for taking the glory of the Telugu people to the world stage and get recognition. “Many welfare schemes were introduced for the betterment of downtrodden people under the reign of NTR. It is the TDP which identified and gave honour to the people belonging to the backward classes and weaker sections.
Because of NTR efforts, only the poorer sections of society started getting recognition and political opportunities. He helped women became leaders. Under the reign of TDP and with the initiatives taken by late NTR women are able to get equal rights in property, he added.
He appealed to the weaker sections to show their complete support and vote to the TDP so that they could get better opportunities in future.
Later, Balakrishna participated in the road show that was held from Thallada to Sattupalli waving to the crowd who had converged to get a glimpse of the actor. Hundreds of party workers and loyalists and women participated in the Balayya’s roadshow. The actor’s fans tried to reach out and shake hands with him at every opportunity with raising slogans of ‘Jai Balayya and Jai TDP’.
Thought the mega star was sweating profusely due to sweltering heat, he continued the road show by removing his shirt. Telangana TDP president L Ramana, former MP Nama Nageswara Rao, former MLA of Sattupalli Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, Koneru Chinni, Dr. Ramanatham, District president Tulluri Brahamaiah, Venkateshwar Rao and Rama Rao among other thousands of people who attended the roadshow.
