I will take part in cancer awareness walk every year: Sindhu
Hyderabad: Badminton star P V Sindhu, the chief guest for the Pink ribbon walk to create awareness on breast cancer said that there was a need to spread the word about breast cancer and that she would be a part of the campaign every year.
A 70-year-old blind lady who conquered breast cancer asked the participants if their heart beats for early detection of breast cancer? The idea resonated with the people at the tenth edition of the 2K Pink Ribbon walk organised by Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation and KIMS Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Disease on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, Ms Bhavani said that with effective counseling, remarkable surgical skills, outstanding post operative care & support from family, she conquered breast cancer.
She said that she leads a normal life like any other lady and that she came all the way from Kakinada to send a positive message of Hope, Courage & survival in the fightagainst breast cancer. All women must get an annual screening mammogram from the age of 40 and emphasized the importance of early detection in saving lives said an official.
