Telangana pharmacy doctors meet Dr K Lakshman
Hyderabad: Telangana Pharmacy Doctors Welfare Society members met BJP state president Dr Lakshman here on Sunday to request inclusion of a statement “Let’s utilize the services of 20,000 pharmacy doctors and build healthy Telangana” in their party manifesto.
Speaking on the occasion, the members of the society Dr A Rupa and Dr Bhavya said that they requested Dr Lakshman to utilize the services of pharmacy doctors both at rural and urban centers for healthy Telangana. They demanded that pharmacy doctors be appointed as government doctors. At present there are 65 pharmacy doctor colleges in Telangana and 20,000 pharmacy doctors are available as of now, they said.
The government opened the colleges but failed to provide employment opportunities to doctors, they alleged. Therefore, they seek inclusion of a statement promising to use their services be included in the party manifesto. They said that central healthcare scheme Ayushman is better than Arogyasree healthcare scheme being implemented by Telangana government and expressed hope that Ayushman will be implemented in Telangana as well.
