Hyderabad: Three sections-Planning, Information Technology and Accounts in Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) have switched to paperless mode of work from Monday. The Metropolitan bodyCommissioner B Janardhan Reddy directed the authorities to take steps for implementation of e-office in rest of the departments by November 1. The Metropolitan body chief set deadline for implementation of e-office from Gandhi Jayanti (October 2) and accordingly steps were taken by IT wing. File pertaining to implementation of e-office in HMDA was first cleared followed by clearance for another file by planning department through this new mode.
HMDA chief wanted employees to utilise latest technologies in regular duties and expedite works and file clearances to serve citizens better. It may be recalled that soon after taking over charge as HMDA chief last month, Janardhan Reddy took up a surprise inspection in all sections in the main office at Tarnaka. He spoke with employees seeking details like name, nature of work and workload and time taken for clearance of files. Later, he took the decision to adopt e-office technology.
