Residents protest against illegal constructions; officials swing into action
Serilingampally: Following a demonstration by residents of Krishna Colony to protest in front of Chandanagar GHMC office on Monday against the alleged constructions by a ruling party leader after occupying parks in the Cyber Valley area of Hafizpet in New Madhapur officials demolished them. Colony residents and BJP leaders extended support to protestors.
Prior to the demonstration, BJP leader Kasireddy Bhaskar Reddy went round the occupied areas. He met GHMC Commissioner Venkanna and lodged a complaint against the occupation of park land and highway along with the colony residents. The protestors staged a sit-in before the office and demanded action against the land-rabber.
Bhaskar Reddy alleged that the land-grabbing was the result of negligence of officials in collusion with local people’s representatives. He demanded action against officials for giving LRS permission for illegal constructions. Otherwise, Reddy warned that people would react strongly in the ensuing elections.
The protestors included BJYM leader Vishnudut, ABVP leader S Vijaykumar Reddy, loical residents Krishna Yadav, Bharath Kumar, Srinusagar, Narendra, Urmila, Sunita Raji Reddy, Ranamma, Sridevi, Sravanthi, K Madhavi.
