Charminar now a Swachh icon of India

​New Delhi: Telangana bagged four prestigious Swachh Awards in the Swachh Sarvekshan Grameen 2018 programme. The state stood second in the South with 81.48 points and the state-level award was received by Principal Secretary of Panchayat Raj Vikas Raj and Commissioner Neetu Kumari Prasad from Union Minister Uma Bharati at a function here on Tuesday. 

Peddapalli stood first in the South and third in the all-India rankings in cleanliness and the award was received by Collector Deva Sena. Warangal stood third in South and its former Collector Amrapali received the award. GHMC Additional Commissioner Musharaff and Director (Planning) Srinivas received the award for making Charminar, a Swachh icon of the country.
