Voting for Congress, TRS like wasting valuable votes: BJP

Update: 2018-10-03 05:30 IST

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit president K Laxman said that voting for the Congress led Mahakutami and the TRS, in the ensuing Assembly elections, is like casting valuable votes into the River Musi. Addressing media here on Tuesday, he said that the two parties have been acting like puppets remote controlled by Darussalam politics of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asadduddin Owaisi.

Terming Telangana Rashtra SAmithi (TRS) as the Telangana Razakars Party, the former BJP MLA said that the TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy is dragging the names of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as his party fails to directly criticise the anti-peoples polices of the TRS and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He also questioned how the TRS could call AIMIM which had tried its best opposing to stall the passage of separate Telangana bill.

Taking a dig at Uttam Kumar Reddy, for comparing KCR with Modi, Laxman said, “Modi is working for 18 hours for the country, KCR confines himself to his farmhouse. Also, the Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s whereabouts remain unpredictable, as no one knows when he would vanish and reappear in the country.” He asked the TPCC chief that if the Congress had a strong base in the State then why it is craving to have an alliance with weaker political parties.

Referring to the challenge put forth by AIMIM chief asking BJP president Amit Shah to contest from the Hyderabad Parliament constituency, Laxman dared Aasaduddin Owaisi to field its candidates in all the 119 Assembly constituencies’ in the State. “Let the AIMIM prove its strength vis-a-vis the BJP by contesting all the Assembly segments’ than playing safe to win in 10 segments by entering secrete pacts with the Congress and the TRS,” he said.

Laxman said that Amit Shah’s public meeting at Karimnagar on October 10 will give a fillip to the party’s election campaign. He said that the party will hold public meetings in every Assembly segment and so far, schedules of 40 constitutes have been finalised. That apart, conventions with BC and young voters will also be held in every Assembly constituency, he said. Apart from Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Narendra Modi and others  will address public meetings.
