KCR to challenge Oppn from Cong bastion
Nalgonda: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is going address TRS’ Praja Ashirwadha Sabha in Nalgonda on Thursday after one month of announcement of party candidates in upcoming elections. This is his third meeting in the state as a caretaker CM.
TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, Congress senior leaders Jana Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy have been winning the seats continuously.
Congress has strong base and strong leaders in erstwhile Nalgonda district in south Telangana and in 2014 elections out of 12 Assembly seats in the district Congress won 5 seats and its alliance party CPI won Deverakonda constituency.
Congress also bagged ZP chairman seat and almost all municipalities in its account. Moreover, even after the mass shifting of loyalties to TRS by the Congress local body representatives, Congress MLC candidate Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy won the local body MLC seat with good majority proved that the Congress strong base in erstwhile Nalgonda district is intact. Considering all the political factors and to break the winning streak of the Congress top leaders in the upcoming elections, TRS planned a huge meeting in Nalgonda.
Nalgonda town became pink with party banners, arches, flags and cutouts in view of CM KCR’s meeting on Thursday. As part of security arrangements district police deployed large number of police force in and around the venue of the meeting to avoid any untoward incidents.
