11,000 voters names deleted in district
Kothagudem: The Election Commission is ready with the final voters list of all five constituencies in the district. According to sources, as many as 11,407 voters’ names were deleted from the list while some news names were added to the lists of voters in 995 polling booths spread across the district.
District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini has already sent the revised voters lists to the recogrnised political parties for their perusal. In the coming one or two days, the district administration will release the detailed voters lists, said officials.
As per the orders of the State Election Commission, the enrolment of voters was carried out from September 10 to 25 across the district. The booth level officers and concerned electoral officers visited all villages and localities in the district for the purpose.
During the process they conducted enrolment camps in most of the polling booths of the district. They struck off the names of the voter who have died and those who have left his polling area or village and shifted to other places because of various reasons. They also sent the notices to their families in this regard.
After thorough revision of voters list in 995 polling booths in the district, the officials struck 11,407 voters name off from the list in five consistencies of the district. The electoral officers will soon announce the name of new voters.
According to sources, in five consistencies of the district, Yellandhu finds first place in elimination of voters names from the list. Aswarao Pet constituency is placed last with least number of voters whose names were deleted.
The details of the eliminated voters constituency wise: Yellandhu- 3,862, Pinapaka – 2,001, Kothagudem – 1,997, Bhadrachalam – 1,880, and Aswarao Pet 1,667. The officers said, the final list will be released in few days.
