TRS tears into Komatireddy’s remarks

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders on Friday condemned Congress leader K Venkata Reddy’s remarks of closing down the Damarcharla Ultra Modern Power Plant, if his party comes to power. Addressing a press conference here at TRSLP office along with MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy, caretaker Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy said that the allegations of the TRS party leaders’ came true regarding the Nalgonda Congress leaders being anti-development leaders.

Jagadish Reddy said that it appears that the Congress leaders in Nalgonda have lost their mental balance. “Earlier, we used to say Komatireddy Venkata Reddy’s mental balance is not right but from today onwards people of the district are also saying the same thing,” said Jagadish Reddy. He said that the TRS party condemns the comments of Venkata Reddy, who said he would close down the proposed power plant in Damaracharla. Until now the Congress leaders who opposed the power plant indirectly were now directly speaking against it, he said.

The TRS leader asked Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy to give clarity on the comments of his party leader. The Congress has to make it clear as to whether these comments are individual or on behalf of the party. If the senior leaders like Uttam Reddy and K Jana Reddy maintain silence on these comments, the TRS would believe that these are the comments of the Congress party, said Jagadish Reddy.

He alleged that the Congress party had destroyed Nalgonda district and added that the TRS government would complete the project even though the Congress leaders create problems.  The TRS leaders justified the comments of caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao against the Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu. He said that there were no abusive words in the speech of Rao. There is every need to make the people of Telangana aware about the real character of Chandrababu Naidu.
