Warangal introduces e-challan

Update: 2018-10-06 05:30 IST

Warangal: In a bid to bring in more transparency in traffic management, the Warangal Police Commissionerate has introduced the e-challan system.

Launching the system here on Friday, Commissioner of Police V Ravinder said that they are planning to modernise the traffic wing and introduce digitalisation. “This will not only help the traffic duties simple, but also increase the trust on the police amongst the people. Moreover, the e-challan will help educate the vehicle users on the responsibility to follow the traffic rules,” he said.

As part of e-challan system, the police will take the photographs of the vehicle users who do not follow traffic rules at different traffic junctions and find out the address and send an e-challan across to the person concerned. A SMS would also be sent to the vehicle user about the violation of traffic rule with the details of place, time and date. He/she can see the photograph of their vehicle’s number online.

The SMS will also include the penalty he has to pay either through e-seva, Mee Sseva, TS online or through PayTM process. In case if the police catch a person violating the traffic rule, then also he has to pay the penalty through online process.
