Uttam predicts Congress win in Telangana, four States

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy here on Monday predicted that the Congress party is all set to win Assembly elections in five States and not just in three States as was revealed by the opinion polls conducted by a section of the media.

Addressing 'Mahila Garjana' meeting here, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress would in Mizoram and Telangana State, besides Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. All surveys conducted in the recent past, especially after dissolution of Assembly, showed a clear win for the Congress party in the forthcoming elections in Telangana. Similarly, he said the Congress President Rahul Gandhi would become Prime Minister in 2019. 

He alleged caretaker Chief Minister and TRS President K Chandrashekar Rao had insulted the women by not giving them any representation in the State Cabinet. "For KCR, not a single woman out of 1.90 crore women in the State was eligible or fit to become a Minister. Has he not insulted all women of Telangana? Does he have a right to seek votes from women" he asked.

He promised that the Congress government would give a grant of Rs 1 lakh each to nearly six lakh SHGs to benefit nearly 72 lakh women. Similarly, Rs 10 lakh bank loan would be arranged for each SHG and its interest would be paid by the State government. He also promised to revive the Abhay Hastham scheme by increasing the  pension amount.
