Degree college building works at a snail’s pace

Parigi: Leaders of various student oganisations demanded to know from the State government why the construction of degree college was stopped at the foundation stage. They said that N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the then Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, laid the foundation stone in the town, but no progress was seen thereafter. 

The students unions including AISF, VJS and YSRVV organised a meeting. The leaders said that the government degree college here would be a boon to poor students to pursue their studies. Unable to pay hefty fees, many students dropping out from the colleges, they said.

Despite repeated appeals and protests, rastarokhos, no action was taken, the student leaders deplored. They demanded that those contesting from this constituency should give utmost priority to this issue.

VJS district president D Srinivas, YSRVV district president K Anand, AISF district president S Chennaiah, student leaders Shravan, Venugopal, Nagavardhan, Bhaskar, Mahesh and others were present.
