Man questions lack of progress, thrashed
Dabeerpura: MIM men associated with MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri allegedly thrashed a Gulf returnee residing in Dabeerpura area, when he raised questions about development when the MIM leaders visited the area near his residence as part of election campaign. Mohd Fareed, 55-year-old resident of Naga Bowli, Dabeerpura, asked the AIMIM candidate of Yakutpura Assembly constituency Pasha Quadri about why Dabeerpura Nala retaining wall has not been constructed for the last 25 years during a padyatra in Dabeerpura division.
Fareed who had lodged a complaint with the Dabeerpura police said that he went to meet Quadri, but he was shoved away and later, he was attacked allegedly by one Aslam who was related to the MLA. “While one caught me with my collar, three started thrashing me. Now I seek police protection, as I may face trouble from these people,” he said.
Fareed said that being returned from Dubai, he has been seeking better amenities. The attackers allegedly objected to his questioning about the presence of the leaders for seeking votes. “I had asked them that they had never shown their face during the five years and now they are seen,” he said. The incident which took place in the afternoon triggered sharp reactions from leaders of other parties like MBT, who demanded action against the persons who had attacked him. Fareed alleged that police failed to cooperate with him, as the local MIM leadership was influencing the issue.
