Navaratri fete begins at Sri Padmanabha temple
Vikarabad: The festivities of Navaratri along with Dhwajarohana programme commenced at Alampalli Sri Ananatha Padmanabha Swamy temple on Wednesday. A large number of devotees thronged the temple and had a darshan of the Lord. On the occasion, the presiding deity at Anantha Padmanabha Swamy in Anathagri was brought to Alampalli with a grand procession. It is a ritual during Navaratri festivities. Special prayers along with vahana seva will be offered to the Lord during the nine-day celebration. After the celebrations, the deity will be taken back to Ananthagiri.
Pedda Jatara during Karthika masam will be held November 18 to December 2. Founder Trustee Sitharamachary and Executive Officer G Sekhar Goud said that an auction would be held for providing vendor licences for various activities during this celebration. Those who are interested may contact the temple authorities, he said.
