Khammam: To enhance security and respond quickly to the law and order related problems, the State Police department sanctioned new vehicles to the Khammam Police Commissionerate on Thursday.

It needs to be mentioned here that when Director General of Police M Mahendar Reddy had visited the district recently, Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal had requested him for sanctioning new vehicles for the Khammam Police Commissionerate so that the officials can discharge their duties efficiently and provide proper security to the people living in distant and remote areas.

Receiving the positive response from the DGP, the Police department prepared a report and submitted it to the State Police Department which sanctioned about 184 two-wheelers and 36 Innova vehicles in the first phase which are going to be distributed to various police stations, Task Force officials and She Team units.

Under the Khammam Police Commissionerate limits there are around 29 police stations where 800 police officials are discharging their duties in various positions.

“The mobility of police force would improve with the new vehicles and officials can respond very quickly to the complaints that are received on dial 100 along with providing tight security for maintenance of law and order,” said a police official.
