Telangana TDP wants Balayya as its star campaigner
Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State unit chief L Ramana and his party leaders on Thursday called on actor Balakrishna on the sets of NTR biopic in the city. The actor and TDP MLA is busy shooting his father and TDP founder NT Rama Rao’s biopic.
The TDP leaders informed Balakrishna that the party proposed to promote the latter as star campaigner in the ensuing Assembly elections. The Hindupur MLA told the leaders that he is preoccupied with shooting. He will take a decision on joining the poll campaign only after the completion of final schedule of the shooting in November second week.
After the post production works are completed, Balakrishna said he will dedicate his time to the campaign. Ramana said that he requested the leader to campaign in TDP strong hold assembly constituencies in Greater Hyderabad, Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts.
The party is planning to field its candidates in all assembly segments where the party is strong enough and has bright winning prospects. The party leaders are of the strong view that Balakrishna’s campaign will help to consolidate the TDP with the support of the star’s fans.
