Traffic home guard catches 10-ft python

Wanaparthy: A 10-feet long python was caught in Mojerla village of Peddamandadi mandal in Wanaparthy district on Friday. Krishna Sagar, a traffic constable from Wanaparthy along with his team reached on the outskirts of Mojerla village and tactfully caught the python. 

The Python was spotted by some shepherds of the village who immediately informed the snake catching experts. “We were informed about the presence of a python by the shepherds. The python was trying to swallow a rabbit which it had killed before we reached to the spot.

This is the second python I had caught during my 10 years of snake catching experience,” said Krishna Sagar, a traffic home guard from Wanaparthy.  

Krishan Sagar said that usually pythons are seen in hilly regions, but of late due to heavy mining and quarrying activities in the habitats of these reptiles have been destroyed forcing them to venture into to plain areas for food.
