BJP makes light of Padmini’s U-turn to Congress

​Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit said that it respects the decision of Padmini Reddy, wife of senior Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha. Padmini Reddy changed her mind within hours after joining the BJP on Thursday to join the Congress.

Reacting to the issue, BJP leader G Kishan Reddy said that Padmini Reddy is a sympathiser of the BJP. “She talked to me earlier when I was the president of the State unit,” he added. We welcomed her into the party when she had expressed her decision to join the BJP.

But, “We don't know what problem she had faced making her change her decision to withdraw and join the Congress,” he said. The party is not worried, and the party faced no loss and we are not taking it as a serious issue at all, Kishan Reddy said.

Telangana BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao said that the party believes in the empowerment of women. Padmini Reddy came and joined the party out of her free will. She is well educated and free to take decisions. If she changed her decision to go to the Congress then we have no issues about it and we respect her decision and wish her all the best, he said.
