Congress preparing for Rahul Gandhi visit
Hyderabad: The Congress party has started preparations for the campaign of AICC president Rahul Gandhi on October 20 at Kamareddy and both towns of the State.
Campaign Committee convener Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has been entrusted with the responsibility of planning for the public meetings of Rahul Gandhi.
Bhatti Vikramarka who has undertaken the State-wide campaign has postponed the programmes till October 20 and cancelled his campaign in Nalgonda district on Saturday.
Vikramarka had reached Hyderabad to make arrangements for the two public meetings to be attended by Rahul Gandhi. He would coordinate with the leaders of old Nizamabad and old Adilabad districts. The Congress has decided to hold 12 public meetings in the State covering all the old 10 districts.
According to the schedule released by the AICC, Rahul would campaign in Nizamabad and Adilabad districts on October 20 and he would come on October 27 to participate in two more public meetings at Karimnagar and Warangal districts.
He would visit the State once in a week in the next 53 days. As per the schedule he would address the public meeting at 3:00 pm at Kama Reddy and would proceed to address the other at Botha at 5:00 pm. The schedule of the Warangal and Karimnagar public meetings are yet to be announced. The party is considering to hold two public meetings of Sonia Gandhi at Hyderabad and Mahbubnagar districts.
Party leaders said campaign of Rahul and Sonia would brighten the prospects of the party in the next Assembly election. Rahul Gandhi visited on August 13 and 14 and addressed two public meetings in Hyderabad.
