Retired NIA judge joins TJS
Hyderabad: Special NIA judge K Ravinder Reddy, who delivered the Mecca Masjid blast case verdict in April, joined Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) in the presence of Prof Kodandaram on Saturday. High Court judge S Srinivas Reddy and Venkat Reddy, a city businessman also joined the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Kodandaram said that Ravinder Reddy was involved in Telangana statehood movement and his valuable experience in legal profession would be better utilised by the party. He said party would explore options if the retired judge could be fielded in upcoming elections.
Commenting on seats sharing in Mahakutami, TJS chief Kodandaram wanted the Congress to finalise the issue at the earliest so that parties could go on campaign overdrive from the auspicious festival of Dasara. He stated that the TJS did not receive any seats proposal for the Congress but was waiting for related communication from their end.
Kodandaram said that TDP president L Ramana and CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy called on him on Saturday morning and they just had customary discussions about the alliance. He nodded in negative if the three parties would form their own alliance leaving out the Congress, due to seats sharing woes.
