Early bird KCR drowns home fire, waits in for ‘kutami’ list

Update: 2018-10-16 22:42 IST

HYDERABAD: TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s procedure in announcing candidates for 105 seats as far back as September 6 itself seems to have put the ruling party ahead of its rivals in handling dissent.TRS strategists are waiting for fires to fly in the rival camps to make the best use of the situation to their advantage.

Now, the party is viewing that as a lead and is waiting for sparks to fly in Congress and TDP camps after the mahakutami announces its list. The Congress.

“The Congress-TDP alliance, while it is opportunistic, has also caused a lot of heartburn, especially in the Congress. Aspirants in the Congress will most certainly be disillusioned when not given the ticket. From what we have gathered, if the party-level alliance may work out, the cadres in the Congress will not be able to accept TDP candidates,” a senior TRS leader said.

The TRS leader said they were keenly watching the developments as they zip in the Congress. As a matter of fact, the ruling party is also said to be getting information from its base informal network within the Congress. In quite a few places, the TRS leadership has been able to speak to warring groups within the party after the candidates were announced. Firstly, the upset aspirants were called and given hope of being accommodated in other positions post-elections if they work full-fledged for the party’s nominees to win.

“We have been able to handle all issues properly because we had the time,” a TRS leader pointed out. But when the candidates are announced for Congress and other parties of the ‘Mahakutami’, TRS leaders are of the point of view that those parties will not be in a position to do anything about it and the TRS could benefit out of that.
