Kodanda not jockeying for Dy CM post: TJS

Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) condemned reports by a section of media stating that the Congress put three proposals including Deputy Chief Minister equivalent post to Prof Kodandaram. TJS official spokesperson Yogeshwar Reddy Vedire said on Monday that no such discussion cropped up in a meeting between the TJS leaders and Congress senior leader K Jana Reddy on Sunday evening.

He said that some leaders in opposite camp are leaking false information that is being played up by the media. Yogeshwar Reddy hoped that the TJS would get a respectable position in the proposed Mahakutami. The TJS spokesperson rubbished other two rumours including Kodandaram not contesting election and the TJS candidates entering election fray on the Congress ticket.

It may be noted that the Congress party, the major alliance partner, appointed a committee under the chairmanship of K Jana Reddy to hold discussions with the TDP, the TJS and the CPI leaders and finalise the seat sharing issue. The TJS leaders expressed hope that the seat sharing issue would be solved in the next couple of days.

While the TJS sought 20 plus seats, sources said that the Congress decided to offer 8 to 10 seats. However, Prof Kodandaram has not agreed to this proposal after which Jana Reddy had been roped in to take seat-sharing talks forward.
