Police rain lathies on protesting farmers

Nalgonda: Farmers protest against apathy of officials in purchasing of paddy turned violent when police try to disperse them with lathi-charge on Tuesday. 

According to sources, farmers of surrounding villages brought their paddy to sell at the  agriculture market  but  got disappointment when the officials rejected to buy the paddy in the name of moisture and other reasons. Angered farmers staged demonstration.

On information, Two Town CI Basha along with his staff rushed to the spot and entered into argument with the protesters.  Later, showing his police power lathi charged the agitating farmers and arrested few of them. Frightened farmers ran into market yard to protect themselves.
