Why vote for those who don’t keep words: Revanth
Kodangal: Taking a dig at Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, former Kodangal MLA and Congress leader Revanth Reddy asked the people why they should vote for a person who deceived the people and did not stand on his word of making a Dalit as Telangana Chief Minister.
While taking part in a bike rally conducted by the Congress party workers on Tuesday, Revanth Reddy said, “Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar during last elections had promised to give 3 acres of land for Dalits, 12 per cent reservation to Muslims and scheduled tribes, double bedroom houses to all those who are shelterless.
Not a single promise he fulfilledin the state. Why should people vote for such a person who has deceived the people and suppressed the voices of Opposition during the past 4 years.”
Telangana came into reality not because of fake hunger strike of KCR but due to Sonia Gandhi, the then Congress president who was moved by the sacrifices of 1,200 students who laid down their lives and long Sakalajanula strike who made everything standstill for the sake of a new Telangana state.
Adding further Revanth said, “since KCR took charge as a chief minister more than 5,000 farmers committed suicides in 4 years. Similarly the students of OU who supported Telangana movement for the sake of employment, after formation of the new State, university students are committing suicides as they did not get jobs in the new Telangana state.”
Further criticising KCR’s policy of giving buffalos, sheep, fish and saloons to the BC community people, Revanth said that as the chief minister has failed to provide employment to the educated youth, now he is offering them to go traditional way of employment and fooling the backward communities.
On the other hand, his family members are given pulpy posts as ministers to enjoy and rule over the people by dividing them on the basis of religion and castes. He asked the people, not to vote for a person who sits in his house without going to office and meeting the people to know their problems.
Revanth alleged the KCR government had tried to conspire against him and slapped false cases on him and confined him to Cherlapally jail until elections are over, but by god’s grace he is able to come out with people’s blessings.
He urged people to protect the self respect of Kodangal as he will take voices of Kodangal people and their self respect from the streets of Kodangal to Delhi and urged them to vote for him in the next elections and defeat the suppressive forces who are ruling by sitting in their houses knowing the people problems.
