CPI ups ante for two seats in district

Kothagudem: It seems all is not well in the Mahakutami, as differences on allotment of seats have come to the fore. The biggest dispute is between the major partner of the grand alliance Congress and the junior member CPI regarding two seats in the district.

On Monday, CPI conducted a meeting of workers in Khammam district where the party’s senior leaders and State party’ joint secretary Kunamneni Sambhasiva Rao criticised the grand alliance partners regarding allotment of seats to CPI.

Rao said the party asked for eleven seats across the State. Now the party expects minimum six seats in the state, he added. According to him, the party strongly pitches for two seats--Kothagudem and Wyra--in the united Khammam district.

He said the party demanded these seats because it has a strong hold in these two constituencies. But Mahakutami is not finalysing the seats. On the other hand, the Congress party also wants both seats.

The party leaders said, we made many surveys and learned that the party could win the two seats with thumping majority in those seats. Therefore, they demanded the party top brass to allot these seats to the Congress candidates only.

While the Mahakutami members are fighting for seats, the ruling TRS party candidates are on campaign trail across the State without any worry except about the outcome.
