TRS fooled Muslims: CPI

Update: 2018-10-17 05:30 IST

Mahbubnagar: Stressing that the TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao is trying to once again fool the people of Telangana with his deceptive manifesto to grab votes, Paramesh Goud, CPI district secretary said on Wednesday that there is no mention of welfare programmes to minorities in TRS party’s manifesto.

“KCR had promised to provide 12 per cent reservation to minorities during 2014. But after coming to power, KCR did nothing to implement it. The Muslims who were expecting at least some thing for them in this manifesto, but KCR has mentioned nothing for them.

This clearly shows KCR and BJP parties are both having internal understandings, because of this understanding TRS party had denied Insaaf to the Muslims of providing 12 per cent reservation,” said Paramesh Goud.

The members of All India Tanzeem-e-Insaaf (AITEI) held a meeting at the CPI office to discuss on various issues pertaining to minorities in the district. “Minorities in Telangana are facing tough time. They have been left backward in education, employment and overall development.

We demand the government to set up a minority development corporation and allocate Rs 1,000 crore per year to help them take up self employment,” said MA Jabbar, president of AITEI.

Paramesh Goud said that earlier during the Congress government  the Sachchar Committee in its report clearly depicted the deteriorating conditions of minorities in Telangana.

For their upliftment government should provide educational opportunities, set up an Urdu University and provide reservations to the downtrodden Muslims. But during the past 4 years the TRS government did nothing for the Muslims.

He urged the people to teach a befitting lession to the TRS party in the next elections and throw out the KCR government to get Insaaf for the minorities and downtrodden in the State.
