Indian Red Cross Society blood bank to be upgraded
Warangal: The blood bank run by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) of Warangal Chapter would be turned into model one in the State, Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil said.
At a review meeting held here with the IRCS committee on Wednesday, the Collector who is also the president of the IRCS said that onus is on everyone to improve facilities for thalassemia patients.
The Collector told the IRCS members to take measures to set up the infusion pump library as early as possible, besides providing thalassemia extension facility. The meeting also discussed about starting wellness centre and meditation room. The Collector stressed the importance of propagating about generic medical shop which helps the poor immensely.
IRCS Warangal chairman P Vijaychander Reddy, treasurer M Nagaiah, State manging committee member E V Srinivas Rao, district committee members Chennamaneni Jayasri, Bommineni Papi Reddy, J Purushotham and B Hariprasad were among others present.
