KCR copied Congress manifesto: DCC chief Naini Rajender Reddy

Warangal: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrashekar Rao has not only mastered the art of hoodwinking people but also proved that he is an excellent copycat, Warangal District Congress Committee President Naini Rajender Reddy said, accusing him of virtually replicating what his party has been promising recently in his party manifesto.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Rajender Reddy found fault with the TRS chief for copying his party leaders’ promises such as unemployment allowance, crop loan waiver at one go and hike in pension benefits made during recent rallies.

“The crop loan waiver implemented by TRS government did not benefit the farmers as it was paid in four installments. Seeing the Congress promise to waive farmers’ crop loans at one go, the TRS now wants to do the same thing,” he said.

“How would K T Rama Rao, who ridiculed poll promises made by the Congress as impracticable, accept his party’s manifesto which is more or less a replica of our party,” Rajender Reddy questioned.

First of all, the TRS chief should explain about his promises made during the 2014 elections, he demanded, referring to three acre land to Dalits, 12 per cent reservations to Muslims and tribal people, double bedroom houses, free KG to PG education etc.

He found fault with the TRS cadres celebrating after KCR announced their party’s election manifesto which is nothing but a recycle version of 2014. “In fact, KCR himself is not happy with the reports suggesting anti-establishment trend in the State,” he said.

He appealed to people not to fall prey to the guiles of KCR who has the uncanny knack of hoodwinking public. It is time for the people to question TRS leaders about their achievements, he added.

Several schemes that were introduced by the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government were either renamed or modified by the TRS government, the DCC president alleged. Further, he criticised the TRS government for not initiating steps to develop Warangal city.

“The TRS leaders were more focused on ‘commissions’ rather than developmental activity,” he alleged, stating that it was time for the people to focus on felling KCR government from Dasara.

Warangal Greater president Katla Srinivas Rao said that copying Congress assurances is nothing but bankruptcy of TRS party. “Even KTR stated that the Congress was making tall promises that require the budget of entire south India to fulfill them,” Rao said.

TPCC general secretary Namindla Srinivas, former MLA B Arogyam, senior leaders Manda Vinod Kumar, Md Ayub, A NAgaraju, M Sarangapani, Rahath Parveen, Jakkula Ravinder Yadav and M Upender were among others present.
