Senior official inspects MJ Market renovation works
MJ Market: Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration, who is overseeing the M J Market renovation project being implemented by GHMC spread over 1.77 acres at a preliminary cost of Rs.10 crore, on Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection of the work.
He was accompanied by Khairatabad zonal commissioner Musharaf Ali, Charminar Pedestrian Project Director Srinivas Rao and GHMC engineering wing officials.The secretary asked officials concerned to expedite the work. The officials told Arvind Kumar that 50 per cent of the project has been completed.
They stated that colouring of the market domes was going on. Water pipeline and smart water pipeline works have been completed, Srinivas Rao said. He stated that the market roof restoration work was going on a brisk pace. The stone blasting taken up at isolated places had to be done carefully, Rao informed Arvind Kumar. The M J Market has lost it past glory because of encroachments, illegal constructions and installation of banners.
