A big salute to martyrs: Ramagundam CP
Adilabad: “Laying down one’s life while serving the nation is the greatest duty of a police officer. The police department is proud to salute the people, who sacrificed their lives in the past one year,” said Ramagundam Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana.
He participated in the Police Commemoration Day ceremony at Ramagundam Police Commissionerate in Ramagundam on Sunday. All the officials received a salute from a ceremonial parade and expressed deep gratitude to the martyrs and their family members. The CP said that they control Maoists in heavily affected regions in the district and called upon his men to work hard and ensure that they provide better services to the society.
Saying that as many as 414 police personnel across the nation have laid down their lives fighting criminals and Maoists this year, the Police Commissioner read out their names including their family details. He gave a speech in remembrance of their sacrifices towards the country with a matter of pride.
Later, the guests distributed mementoes and prizes to the winners, who won various competitions conducted on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day celebrations. Peddapalli Deputy Commissioner of Police Sudarshan Goud, Mancherial DCP M Venugopal Rao, Additional DCP Ashok Kumar, DCP (Law and Order) Ravi Kumar, ARADCP Sanjeev, ACP Rakshita K Murthi Balu and others were present on the occasion.
