Balapur Colony to boycott polls
LB Nagar: Demanding solution to their long-pending civic issues in the colony, the vexed residents of Balapur colony of Hastinapuram division registered their protest here on Sunday. The representatives of the colony said that they passed a resolution to boycott the December elections. They said that when the colony with 2,000 voters boycotted last elections, GHMC officers rushed to them and assured to solve the problems within six months.
Even caretaker Minister KT Rama Rao assured but in vain, they criticised. Meanwhile, the protesters obstructed the poll campaign of TRS leaders and tore the posters. They warned them of dire consequences, if tried to enter colony again. The agitators urged all political parties not to enter the colony on poll campaign. They also said that whichever political party gave assurance on bond paper to solve the problems, the Balapur Colony will support them in the elections.
