Make special arrangements for disabled voters

Khammam: District Collector RV Karnan on Monday ordered the Returning Officers (RO’s) to make special arrangements for the disabled voters at every polling station besides providing necessary facilities so that they can utilise their voting right.

The Collector chaired a meeting with the RO’s in the Collectorate in Khammam. Addressing meeting, Karnan ordered the RO’s to identify the number of disabled voters according to the polling stations present in every constituency in addition to making prior arrangements of transport facility so that they do not face any hurdle in casting their votes.

The Collector directed the ICDS officer to involve anganwadi workers along with booth level officers for collecting details of disabled persons by marking their names in the voters list.

They were asked to appoint appointing nodal officers at mandal and constituency level for the completing the process successfully. Make necessary arrangements for appointing DPM’s as a nodal officers at the constituency level and APM’s at mandal level, added the Collector.

District Joint Collector Masrath Ayesha Khanam, Assistant Collector Hanumanthu Kodimba, Sub-Collector Anurag Jayanti, RO’s of constituencies, Nodal Officer R Vara Lakshmi, District In-charge Revenue Officer Madan Gopal and Election Deputy Tahasildar and others were present on the occasion.
