SBI holds Green Marathon
Hyderabad: Country’s largest bank State Bank of India on Sunday launched its second edition of annual flagship programme ‘SBI Green Marathon’ to promote sustainability. Badal Chandra Das, DMD (Inspection & Audit), SBI and Swaminathan J, CGM, Hyderabad Circle, SBI flagged off the event that witnessed over 4,500 enthusiastic runners. Pullela Gopichand, Chief National Coach for the Indian Badminton team also graced the event. The Sunday morning in the Gachibowli Stadium observed participants from across the city running 5,10,21 km marathon, pledging for a greener future.
Senior officials of the bank also contributed to the ‘Run for Green’ theme and ran the marathon along with other participants. All the runners were given organic t-shirts to promote clean and green city and their bibs consisted of seeds for tree plantation post Marathon. SBI in the next 6 months has also been rolling out its marathon in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Guwahati, Bhopal, Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Patna and Jaipur with the two marathons recently got concluded in New Delhi and Lucknow.
