Shortage of buses hits people hard

Nanakramguda: Passengers travelling from Bachupally towards other parts of the city in the west zone have to wait endlessly as TSRTC runs very few bus services on this route. A good number of passengers who take bus number 195 that connects commuters from Bachupally X Road to Hi-Tec City, Miyapur, and Gachibowli have been complaining about the lack bus services.

The extension of present fleet of the bus number 195 is 195W, 195, 195w/1 and 195D too are less. There is no Setwin service as well in this stretch. Santosh Chauhan, who travels from Gandimaisamma to Hi-Tec City, said, “We have to wait for the 195 no bus for 2 to 3 hours, by that time many take to other mode of transport like an auto. In the evenings the auto drivers fleece the commuters by charging double the rate.” If there were enough 195 number buses the commuters would not have to face hardships and there would be savings on money and time, he said adding that the Gandimaisamma to Hi-Tec City stretch is 22 km and would take 55 minutes to travel.

Sanjana, an IT employee, said, “The state of the bus shelters too is pathetic. The bus stops are not properly maintained by the civic body at Bachupally. The shelters are being used by the beggars and anti-social elements.” B Venka Reddy, manager of Miyapur-2 depot, said, “We used to run six buses earlier but now the number has increased to 10 and the problem is in between Bachupally and Wave Rock there are frequent road deviations because of the construction works at Ikea, Metro pillar Trident hotel.”

There are 31 stops from HCU bus stop to Bachupally X Roads and the Metro works at Hi-Tech City is making it difficult. If there are more buses (195W which starts from Bachupally and goes to Wave Rock via JNTU, Miyapur X Road, Allwyn X Road, Gachibowli and then Wave Rock.) it would ease the problem.
