The Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA) and Indian Resuscitation Council (IRC) initiated a campaign to create awareness about resuscitation in the public.

As part of the programme 1,00,000 people all over the country were trained in Compression-Only Life Support (COLS). The demonstration was held between 6.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.

Further the hospital has also organised a day long training session in the hospital.

Doctors say that only 1 in 10 persons survives a cardiac arrest.
The survival rate can be improved by providing immediate care to a person during cardiac arrest through three simple steps – by calling 108, starting chest compressions early and shifting the patient to the nearest medical facility.

Having one such person in a house hold can save a life, he added.

The program was attended by Dr RV Prabhakar Rao, CEO, BIACH&RI; G Ravi Kumar, COO, BIACH&RI; Dr Kalpana Raghunath, MS, BIACH&RI along para-medical and non medical staff of the hospital.
