Afzalgunj: Osmania General Hospital (OGH) on Wednesday organised free demonstrations for general public at its premises on chest compression technique through Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for helping patients recover from ‘cardiac arrest’.

Using live and artificial models, an expert team of doctors led by Dr Pandu Nayak, OGH JAC committee Chairman, demonstrated the technique to the public. The programme was conducted as part of ongoing campaign to create awareness about CPR in the public. It was organised by the Department of Anesthesia at OGH. The training session was held from 8 am to 5.30 pm. The hospital also inaugurated e-Library at the Department of Anesthesiology of Osmania Medical College on the occasion.

Dr Pandu Nayak, Chairman of OGH JAC, said computers with internet connection have been provided for doctors to access e-books. The medical books are helpful for medical students during surgeries, he said. “The idea of e-Library is to educate students about new medical aspects and instruments and their usage, so they could get in-depth knowledge and practical exposure,” Nayak explained.
