Congress leaders burn 12 effigies
Khammam: Venting their ire for not fulfilling the promise of giving 12 per cent reservation to Muslims in jobs and education, the District Congress Minority Cell workers on Thursday burned 12 effigies in the city.
District Congress Minority Cell convenor Md.Tajuddin along with other leaders burned effigies at 12 hours, 12 minutes and 12 seconds in the afternoon at the district Congress office in Khammam.
Addressing the party workers, Tajuddin said that the TRS party has no right to ask people belonging Muslims to vote for them as they did not fulfill the promises made to them.
All the welfare schemes introduced by the TRS government are meant for other communities but not for the Muslims except one or two like Shaadi Mubarak schemes, he alleged. He appealed to the Muslims not to vote for TRS party and its candidates who deceived them with hollow promises and mesmerizing words and urged them to teach a fitting lesson by defeating them in ensuing elections.
The Congress Minority Cell leaders Shakeel Baig, Fazak, Md. Yousuf, Farooq, Syed Fareed Khadri, Riyaz, Abdul, S K Qadeer, Mohammad, SK Sameer, Khaleel, OBC leaders Venkanna, N Bobji and others were present on the occasion.
