Cops intensifie vehicle checking in district

Gundrampally (Nalgonda): District SP Ranganath on Thursday inspected the check post located at the district border village Gudrampally of Chityal mandal in the district.

He directed the police officials to check all the vehicles thoroughly to prevent illegal transport of money, liquor and other banned items meant to bribe voters.

Ranganath said checking at inter-district and Inter- state check posts were intensified and police are inspecting every vehicle round the clock for conducting fair and smooth elections in the district, he added. He said all precautionary measures have been taken in the district since the announcement of the State Assembly elections date.

Bind over of history sheeters and identification of persons involved in clashes in earlier elections were done, he added. He warned candidates and parties of strict action in case of violation of model code of conduct.

The police have been conducting meetings in villagers  to create awareness on elections and punishments to be faced if involved in any sort of violence.
