Students demand shifting school to new building
Suryapet: Demanding shifting of their school to a better building, the students of BC Gurukul school and their parents under the aegis of PDSU staged protest the near new bus stand in the town on Thursday. Large number of vehicles held up in kilometers distance due to the students protest.
On information, police rushed to the spot and asked the protestors to withdraw the dharna but in vain. To control the situation, police arrested the PDSU leaders and shifted them to the local police station. Minor scuffle took place between protestors and police during the arrest of students’ union leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, PDSU district leaders Poleboina Kiran, Veera Boina Linganna stated that students are facing lot of problems in the existing building. Even though the issue of necessity of shifting of BC Gurukul School was brought to the notice of Minster Jagadish Reddy, it was not addressed so far.
BC Welfare Officer ignored the Collector’s directions also with regard to shifting of BC Gurukul School of the town to the best building in the interest of students, they added.
They demanded intervention of Minister Jagadish Reddy to address the issue in amicable way to do justice to the students of the school. PDSU leaders Pavan,Venu, Munna, Mahesh, parents Siadulu, Jani, Srinu , Renuka, Laxmi Nagamani and students participated in the protest.
