Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday called caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao a 'copy master' and accused him of copying promises made by the Congress party to the people for the ensuing Assembly elections.

He was speaking at Gandhi Bhavan on the occasion of joining of Osmania University TGVP president Srihari Naik and hundreds of other students into the Congress party. Many prominent leaders and their followers from Ramagundam also joined the Congress party.

Uttam said when the Congress party promised that, when it comes to power, it would give unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 per month to jobless youth, Minister KT Rama Rao ridiculed the promise and said the budget of entire South India would not be sufficient to fulfil the promise. Rama Rao even challenged the Congress party to explain how it plans to implement the promise.

“When we explained that it would cost only Rs 300 crore per month for the government to pay unemployment allowance to 10 lakh youth, K Chandrashekar Rao, a copy master, immediately copied it and just added Rs 16 to it,” he said.

He said that the students of Osmania University have played a major role not only in the formation of Telangana State, but also in making Chandrashekar Rao the Chief Minister. However, he completely neglected the Osmania University and did not resolve the problems being faced by the students and staff.

Uttam said that the Congress party was all set to win next elections both in Telangana and at the Centre. He said that the Congress party would provide two lakh jobs, including one lakh jobs in public sector, in the first year of formation of government. Former Union Minister Sarve Satyanarayana, TPCC General Secretary Venugopal Rao and other senior leaders were also present.
