Update: 2018-10-28 05:30 IST

Hyderabad: Telangana Builders Federation (TBF) on Saturday urged the Telangana government to extend the deadline for registering real estate projects with RERA by two more months. The current deadline ends by the end of next month.

As per Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 and Telangana Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules, 2017 notified by Telangana government, all the real estate projects approved on or after January 1, 2017 having above 500 square meters area or more than eight saleable units, have to be registered with TSRERA on or before November 30.

“We are encountering glitches while uploading construction details on RERA website. Further, officials are also busy with elections. Therefore, it is better if the government extends the deadline by two more months up to January 31, 2019,” Jakka Venkat Reddy, General Secretary, TBF, told the reporters on the sidelines of TBF’s 4th General Body meeting here on Saturday.

Reddy also underlined the need for single window clearance for real estate sector. “'The builders are facing lot of problems for securing permissions from multiple agencies,” he said. Meanwhile, the real estate body extended support to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in elections, saying latter’s victory was a foregone conclusion.

Thanking TBF for extending its solidarity to caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Ro and TRS, Caretaker Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao, while speaking at TBF’s General Body meeting here, said the TRS government would solve all problems being faced by builders after getting re-elected.
