Hyderabad: Caretaker Minister T. Harish Rao alleged that the Grand Alliance symbolises the unity of opportunist political parties.

Addressing a press conference along with former Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy in Medak on Monday, Harish Rao said while the TDP was formed to protest the interest of Andhra people, TRS was formed to end injustices with Telangana. Therefore, he said the Congress party's alliance with the TDP was an insult to the people of Telangana. He said it was not right on the part of Congress to impose TDP on people of Telangana.

Harish Rao recalled that when the last Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh Kiran Kumar Reddy had announced that he would not give a single rupee to Telangana after TRS objected to sanctioning of Rs. 9,000 crore worth drinking water projects for his Chittoor district. He said several leaders including Uttam Kumar Reddy and D.K. Aruna who were ministers in Kiran Kumar Reddy's cabinet did not react to those comments.

He alleged that the Congress party has sold itself to TDP. He also alleged that the TDP had given an assurance to Congress leadership that it would spend crores of rupees in Telangana Assembly elections.
